CONDITIONS FOR MEMBERSHIP
1. The membership of the Society shall be open to any person
engaged in Public Relations activities as defined by the Society
and also to any Firm, Body Corporate or Association of Persons.
2. There shall be the following four classes of Members:
I. Member
II. Associate Member
III. Corporate Member
IV. Student Member
as defined hereunder:
(a) A member who devotes the whole or a major portion of his
time to the practice of public relations as defined by the
Society and who is either employed in the internal public
relations department of an organization or who practices as
public relations consultant or counsellor for any business,
commercial or industrial organization or association shall
be designated a Member. This category shall also include those
engaged in teaching public relations at Institutions recognized
by the Managing Council and those representatives nominated
by corporate members who qualify for membership as defined
by this clause.
(b) One who does not qualify for membership as defined in
clause (a) but who believes in the practice and promotion
of sound and ethical public relations if elected as a member
shall be designated an Associate Member. This category shall
also include those representatives nominated by corporate
members who do not qualify as Members as defined in clause
(a)
(c) A company, institution or association which believes in
and encourages the practice of organized public relations,
if elected as a member, shall be designated Corporate Member.
(d) All bonafide students studying Public Relations, Advertising,
Journalism or Publicity are entitled to qualify as Student
Members, if elected. Their application should be certified
by the Principal of the College.
3. There shall be an Entrance Fee of Rs.100/- for all members.
Applications for admission to membership of the Society shall
be made to the society in writing on a prescribed form accompanied
by the Subscription for the first year of membership for approval
of the Indian National Council.
4. The National Council shall have absolute power and discretion
in accepting or refusing any application for membership and
its decision shall be final and it shall not be bound to give
any reason for its decision.
5. The National Council may from time to time fix the annual
subscription to be paid by the members. Until so otherwise
fixed, the subscription payable by the members shall be as
follows:

6. Subscription is also subject to the rules & regulations
of the chapter and the amendments made from time to time.
7. All Annual Subscriptions shall be payable in advance on
the 1st day of April every year except that the first annual
subscription of person admitted to membership shall be payable
on his application for membership.
8. The National Council shall have power to remit or reduce
annual subscription on arrears of annual subscription of any
member in any case where special circumstances in the opinion
of the National Council make such a remission or reduction
desirable.
9. Any person ceasing to be a member of the Society for any
reason shall nevertheless remain liable to pay all annual
subscriptions and other sums (if any) presently payable by
him to the Society at the date of his ceasing to be a member. |
